One of the UK’s most prolific electronic producers, Mella Dee, returns with his brand new single “Ethereal Chugger” featuring rising singer-songwriter, Effie. The track is being released via new UK record label Don’t Sleep.
Mella Dee is entering a new phase of his career, emerging from the pandemic with a clear vision of where he wants to take his productions and developing his music with a newfound complexity. His forthcoming EP (details TBA next month), explores new styles across the electronic spectrum with a nod to the soundscapes of the ’90s subculture in a euphoric revival of breaks, rave, and trance.
Today’s release, “Ethereal Chugger” features stomping kicks, rolling bass, and an oscillating synth beneath Effie’s feather-light vocal line, cementing the Warehouse Music label head as one of the most versatile producers in the game.
Last month, Mella Dee released his latest single, “A Little Longer,” featuring fellow Don’t Sleep signee Infinite Coles; son of rap royalty and leading figurehead of the New York fashion and LGBTQ+ communities.
The single also marked the first time Mella Dee worked with a vocalist on an original release and it was supported across BBC Radio 1 with plays from Pete Tong, Charli XCX, and Sarah Story.
