Dead Sara “Heroes” official video

The group’s signature dual guitar attack cuts deep as Emily Armstrong’s (vocalist/guitarist/songwriter) and Siouxsie Medley’s (guitars/backing vocals)intense chorus rings out.It was notably co-produced by Dead Sara drummer/programmer Sean Friday and longtime collaborator Noah Shain.

It follows on the heels of their 2020 comeback “Hands Up.” Upon arrival, it racked up 294K Spotify streams and 463K YouTube views on the music video. Receiving critical acclaim, Loudwire applauded it as “explosive, and Consequence of Sound praised it as “raw and heavy.

Largely written and recorded during lockdown in Los Angeles, AIN’T IT TRAGIC reveals a band at the apex of their songwriting prowess with a penchant for earworm melodies and their hard-hitting twin-guitar attack that have made the band live legends for the past decade.

“Deep in the making of this album, in the thick of the pandemic, we had nothing to do but write and record music,” says Emily Armstrong.  “Amid all that was happening in the world and the day-in day-out in the studio we let our guards down and let whatever happen, happen. Losing our minds.”

Dead Sara will hit the road on tour for the first time in three years. Additional dates for 2021 to be announced later this year. Dead Sara will tour the world in 2022.Renowned for their incendiary performances, Dead Sara are a Do Not Miss live attraction.

AIN’T IT TRAGIC was co-produced by Dead Sara drummer/programmer Sean Friday along with Noah Shain, who previously produced, mixed, and engineered the band’s two full-length albums to date. Fittingly, the raw track harks back to the razor-sharp rock of Dead Sara‘s earliest work, while preserving the taut, hook-heavy arrangements found on 2018’s Temporary Things Taking Up Space EP.

About Dead Sara:

Dead Sara: Emily Armstrong (vocalist/guitars/songs)Siouxsie Medley (guitars/backing vocals), Sean Friday (drummer/programmer/co-producer)first broke through with their 2012 single “Weatherman”—a churning stew of bluesy punk riffs, chugging hard rock grooves, and throat-shredding vocals that reached No. 30 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock chart and was followed by tour dates supporting Muse. “Hands Up” was the first new music from Dead Sara since September 2018, when the band released a stripped-down version of “Anybody,” a single originally found on Temporary Things Taking Up Space. That EP built on the success of 2015’s Pleasure to Meet You, which reached No. 2 on Billboard‘s Heatseekers chart and No. 7 on the Hard Rock Albums chart. To date, Dead Sara has been featured on Rolling StoneInterviewGuitar World, and Loudwire, and performed at the GRAMMY Museum. Look for Dead Sara on tour in 2021 & 2022.
